"A MAD TEA PARTY"

MIAMI BEACH, FL - (Saturday, July 12, 2008) -The Bass Museum of Art and 944 Magazine hosted approximately 1,500 members and special guests to fall down Alice’s’ rabbit hole on Friday, July 11.
Delicious tropical cocktails by Bombay Sapphire were served at the Mad Tea Party, as well as savory hors d’oeuvres by CuisineWorksEvents and tasty treats from Stella’s Sweet Shoppe.
Special performances included Life Project, who are executive produced by BASE who performed in the intimate Café Bustelo lounge where the amazing soulful sounds of Man Big Brooklyn Red were heard throughout the evening.
Together with Miami International University’s Interior Design Department, SWANK featured an installation in the Bass Café curated by hot local designers David Blanco and Billy Jurgen. Furnishings, products and accessories from local cutting-edge stores such as BASE, MOOOI, Marimekko and Avant Gallery were used in the installation that was the designers’ interpretation of Lewis Carroll’s Mad Tea Party. Front Management Models brought the character’s to life with the help of the styling agency Blink Management, who created a unique and sophisticated interpretation of the Wonderland characters, such as Alice, The Mad Hatter, Doormouse and the Hare.
DJ Lauren A. kicked off the party and kept the crowd going on the Bass terrace for throughout the evening. The last stop down the rabbit hole was the new, hip, venue Heathrow Lounge for the after party, where Bass members enjoyed complimentary cocktails until 1:30AM.
As a result of the spectacular event the Bass Museum received over 60 new memberships and many upgrades on current memberships.
